Avatar Project

avatar-1

Pros: It was nice how the layout of the website was. It was well organized and easy to find what I wanted. I also really liked how there was a whole variety of choices to choose from and each of them was unique and different than one another.

Cons: I didn’t really like how the ears looked and how the website didn’t give me an option to change it. I also wish that there were more variety of choices within the colors because they only have the general pure colors but not many other shades or tones.

Pros: I really liked the how there was a variety of colors I could choose from. It was also very nice that there were choices for many different backgrounds which made the avatar stand out more.

Cons: I didn’t like how the users had to sign up and pay for majority of the choices. I also didn’t like how the colors that were shown in the choices weren’t exactly the same when it was used on the actual avatar.

avatar-3

Pros: It was really nice to have the option of choosing a 3D avatar to work with. It made it more realistic which was more entertaining and fun to work with. I also really liked how they gave the whole color spectrum to choose the colors from; it had from the darkest tones to the lightest tints.

Cons: It wasn’t so great because I couldn’t start from scratch but from a basis of an avatar they had. It then wouldn’t let me change anything about the hair or their general attributes which made it harder to make the character look as similar to what I wished. I also didn’t like how the eyeballs of the avatar followed the mouse. It was distracting every time I moved it.

avatar-4

Pros: I really liked how there were so many different options for every choice I could make. I also really liked how the website was well organized and easy to use.

Cons: I didn’t really like how the box showing the avatar was so small. It was hard to tell the differences at times because I couldn’t see so clearly. I also didn’t like how, sometimes, the accessories didn’t exactly fit with the avatar’s shape and it looked like it was floating in the air.

avatar-5

Pros: It was really nice to have control over the exact size and location of the choices (Ex. I could shift the avatar’s eyes down if I wanted). It was also really nice that the website was organized neatly and allowed the users to use it easily.

Cons: The website could’ve been better if there was more variety in the color choices. I also didn’t like how the majority of the choices for the eyes all looked either mad, clueless, or sad, and how there were not much other options.

avatar-6

Pros: It was great to have the variety in color throughout the entire process of creating an avatar using this website. I also really liked how there was a lot of unique parts that I’ve never seen on a different website for avatar making (Such as adding memes in the background).

Cons: I didn’t like how when I was choosing the skin color, they named each color after a race/ethnic group and it could’ve been used in more polite terms. I also didn’t like how the accessories often didn’t match up to the size and shape of the avatar and it looked really odd.

In conclusion, I think my favorite avatar website to use was the Portrait Illustrator Maker. That is because it was clean and well organized which allowed me to use it very easily. It also provided a variety of different, unique choices that I haven’t seen on other websites. There were definitely aspects where it could’ve been better, however, they weren’t major and didn’t affect my use of the website too much.
